*The minimum age for a learner’s permit is 15, but age 14 is acceptable in cases of hardship.
*Learner’s permit must be held for a minimum of 180 days.
*The minimum age for a driver’s license is 16.
*Take a road test
*Supervised driving of at least 50 hours, and 10 of these hours must occur at night. A guardian or parent must sign a verification form as acknowledgement that all 50 hours have been completed.
*Drivers with intermediate restricted licenses are not allowed to drive unsupervised from 11pm to 6am unless they are driving to or from school or work, and a note from a parent or guardian must be available for verification. Restricted license holders can drive between 4am and 6am with written verification that they are driving to or from a hunting or fishing activity, but driving is prohibited if there are two or more passengers in the vehicle.
*The Passenger Rules limit restricted driver’s license holders to one passenger, but drivers can travel with two or more passengers provided they are going to or from school. Written permission from parents or guardians must be available as well.
*Additional hardship licenses may be granted to qualified applicants at age fourteen.
