Driver Education That Helps TeensUnderstand the Road

Learning to drive starts with understanding the rules and how to apply them. Online drivers ed covers the classroom portion of driver education, teaching teens about traffic laws, road signs, safe driving practices, and the decisions drivers face every day. Students complete their lessons on a computer, tablet, or smartphone while following their state’s course requirements.

DriverEdToGo was one of the first companies to offer online driver education. Since 2000, we’ve continued developing and updating our courses to help teens understand the material and stay interested in what they’re learning. Our courses combine written explanations with videos, animations, multimedia, games, driving simulations and quizzes. These activities give students different ways to learn, review important concepts, and check their understanding.

For students, that means a course with more to do than simply read page after page. For parents, it means an experienced company, clear course information, and a team available to answer questions. We care about helping students understand what they’re learning and helping families feel informed throughout the process.

We’re proud of the positive reviews we’ve received from students and parents. Whether you need help choosing a course, understanding a requirement, or receiving proof of completion, our team is here to help. Course features and requirements vary by state.

State-Approved Online Driver Education

Every state has its own driver education requirements. We offer approved online courses in the states listed below. Select your state to visit its course page and learn about eligibility, course content, required hours, and completion procedures. You’ll also find information about what to do next as you prepare for your permit or license.

PREPWIZARD

Practice for Your Permit Test Before Test Day

We created PrepWizard to help students prepare for their permit knowledge test. It’s a separate exam preparation app where you can practice questions about traffic laws, road signs, and driving rules, then see which topics you understand and which ones need another look.

Learning the material is important. Practicing how to answer questions about it gives you another way to prepare. Use PrepWizard to check what you remember, review topics you find challenging, and become more familiar with knowledge test questions before taking your exam.

For parents, it’s another resource to support the studying your teen is already doing. You can encourage them to review difficult topics and talk through what they’ve learned.

Your DriverEdToGo course includes a 24-hour free trial of PrepWizard. Explore the app, try the practice questions, and see how you do.

For Parents, Every Step of the Way

Helping your teen learn to drive comes with important decisions and plenty of questions. Which course do they need? What will they learn? When can they begin practicing behind the wheel? What happens after they finish driver education? Our Parents’ Center helps you understand the process and your role in supporting it.

DriverEdToGo gives your teen a place to learn driving rules and safe driving practices, with resources and support available to your family. We want parents to understand what the online course covers, what their state requires, and which additional steps need to be completed.

  • Understand the Requirements

Learn how driver education fits into your teen’s permit and licensing process. Review course requirements, completion procedures, and any additional instruction or supervised driving your state requires so you can plan ahead.

  • Support What They’re Learning

Ask your teen about their lessons and discuss examples when you’re driving together. Signs, intersections, following distances, and everyday traffic situations can help connect the course material to what happens on the road.

  • Get Answers Along the Way

Visit our Parents’ Center for information and resources to support your teen’s driver education. If you need help with enrollment, taking the course, or completion, our team is available to answer your questions.
