*Learner’s Permit: one can only obtain a permit when one is 15 years of age. However, one may apply when they are 14 years and 10 months old.
*One needs to hold the permit for a minimum of 6 months before he can apply for a driver’s license.
*Supervised driving: at least 60 hours including 10 hours night driving with a supervisor who is no younger than 21. However, this is not needed if someone completes an approved driver education course.
*Road test mandatory (driver education instructor is allowed to administer the test.)
*Driver’s License: minimum age 16 years
*Unsupervised driving: If you are holding a provisional license, you cannot drive from 12 midnight to six in the morning. Exception to this is only permitted when one is driving to and from school or work.
*Passenger rules: In the first six months after obtaining the license, a provisional license holder is allowed to carry no more than one non-family passenger younger than 19. During the second six months, he may carry a maximum of three non-family passengers.
