Illinois Driver License Requirements at-a-glance:

*The driver must be at least 15-years-old to receive a learning permit.
*While holding the permit there is an allowable instructional period of three months.
*At least 25 hours of driving time has to be done while being supervised.
*In order to receive an Illinois driver’s license the applicant must be 16 years of age and pass the road test.
*Drivers that are not supervised and under 16 are not allowed to drive from 11pm to 6 am Sunday through Thursday. No driving is allowed on Friday and Saturday from 12 am to 6 am.
*Drivers under age 16 can only have one passenger in the front seat. The available seat belts determine how many other passengers can ride along in the back of the vehicle.
*Some applicants are able to receive a waiver for the road testing if they recently passed a course for Illinois online drivers ed.
