The Department of Motor Vehicles has no driving requirements on an hourly basis in order to attain an intermediate license.  However, an individual must be sixteen years of age; in possession of a Arkansas drivers permit and not received any traffic tickets during the prior six month period.  
After an individual successfully acquires an Arkansas drivers permit: are friends of the driver allowed to ride alongside him or her in the automobile?
Individuals with an instruction or Arkansas drivers permit are not allowed to have their friends in the automobile while driving unless a driver at least twenty-one years of age; and licensed rides along.  

Is it possible for a person's friends to ride in the car with him or her once an intermediate license is attained?
The Department of Motor Vehicles does allow a person to drive with his or her friends in the automobile without an adult supervisor once he or she reaches the age of sixteen years and has successfully attained an intermediate license.
Is a person allowed to drive by themselves once in possession of the Arkansas drivers permit?
Any individual wishing to keep his or her driving privileges are advised not to drive without an accompanying licensed driver who is at minimum twenty years of age.  The licensed drive who is at minimum twenty one years of age must sit next to the driver with an Arkansas drivers permit or instruction permit at all times.
