How do I know if V.I.P. Driving School is licensed by Texas's DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
While we do include V.I.P. Driving School's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether V.I.P. Driving School is licensed by the State of Texas.  We recommend that you either contact V.I.P. Driving School directly or possibly the Texas DMV to find out if V.I.P. Driving School is a licensed driver training school.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving instructor in Texas, so taking a Houston behind-the-wheel training course like the one V.I.P. Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driving school like V.I.P. Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will V.I.P. Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my behind-the-wheel training?
Since you're enrolling in a Houston Texas behind-the-wheel training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let V.I.P. Driving School know what your preference is before registering for their behind-the-wheel class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I live in a very rural area, where there are mountains and a lot of dirt roads. Do you know if V.I.P. Driving School offers training for driving in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in urban areas?
Since you live in a remote area, a local driving school such as V.I.P. Driving School will tailor your behind-the-wheel training to handle the conditions in your area.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to obtain my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as V.I.P. Driving School or the Texas DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Texas.
Do I have to take both a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Houston Texas to get my Texas driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers enroll in a defensive driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like V.I.P. Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
Texas's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if V.I.P. Driving School offers this course or not?

The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to enroll in a safe driving classroom course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as V.I.P. Driving School and ask if they offer a Texas-approved  driver training course which would satisfy Texas's driver's education requirements.
Is there a law in Texas that requires me to take behind-the-wheel training in order to get my driver's license?
