Wise Driving SchoolFAQ's

Can you tell me if Wise Driving School is a certified driving school in Texas?
Although Wise Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently licensed to teach behind-the-wheel training courses in Texas.  We recommend either calling Wise Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out whether or not Wise Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses that are state-approved.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Texas?
Each state has its own rules regarding behind-the-wheel training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised driver training as a substitute for attending a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Texas DMV to find out for sure.
I don't know how to drive using a stick-shift. Will Wise Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my behind-the-wheel training?
Since you're enrolling in a Bridgeport Texas driver training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Wise Driving School know what your preference is before registering for their driver class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
What happens to those of us who live in a rural area? Will Wise Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other rugged?
If you live in a rural location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like Wise Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Texas?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Wise Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Texas.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Bridgeport Texas or do I also have to successfully complete a behind-the-wheel training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Texas's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to enroll in a driver training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
I have to register for a behind-the-wheel class in Bridgeport Texas before Texas will give me my driver's license. Does Wise Driving School offer this type of course?

I live in Bridgeport Texas and would like to apply for my first driver's license. Do I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course before I can be licensed?
