How do I know if Advanced Driving School is certified by Virginia's DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?

Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?

I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will Advanced Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
