Clearview Driving SchoolFAQ's

Is Clearview Driving School a licensed driving school in Illinois?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer hands-on driving courses in Illinois.  We highly recommend that you contact Clearview Driving School directly or the Illinois DMV to find out for sure if Clearview Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses that have been approved by the State of Illinois.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to enroll in a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which allow you to complete your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of attending a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you ask your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
Do I need to tell Clearview Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift car? I don't know how to drive a manual-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a manual-shift OR and automatic-shift vehicle!  We recommend that you ask Clearview Driving School if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift automobile before you enroll in their driver training course.
I live in a very rural area, where there are mountains and a lot of dirt roads. Do you know if Clearview Driving School offers training for driving in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in urban areas?
Since you live in a remote area, a local driving school such as Clearview Driving School will tailor your behind-the-wheel training to handle the conditions in your area.
I'm turning 14 in a few months. Can I get a instruction permit to drive in Illinois after my 14th birthday?
Most likely, no.  Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for an instruction permit.  Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the Illinois DMV office or a Illinois-certified driving school such as Clearview Driving School to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
Do I have to take both a defensive driving classroom course and a driver training course in Yorkville Illinois to get my Illinois driver's license?
The laws vary depending on which state you live in, but most states do require that pre-licensed drivers register for a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call a driving instruction company like Clearview Driving School and find out if they offer either (or both) of these programs.
Illinois's DMV has told me that I need to take a driver training course. Do you know if Clearview Driving School offers this course or not?
Clearview Driving School does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that Illinois requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Clearview Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact Clearview Driving School directly.
What steps do I have to take in order to get a Illinois drivers license in Yorkville Illinois?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Clearview Driving School may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in Illinois.  Please contact Clearview Driving School for more information.

What are the laws in Illinois concerning driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Illinois law states that new drivers take an approved behind-the-wheel training course as a prerequisite to getting their first driver's license.
Will Illinois allow me to register for a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually get my instruction permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your instruction permit before you sign up with a behind-the-wheel training course.
