National Driving AcademyFAQ's

Is National Driving Academy an approved driving school in Wisconsin?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Wisconsin.  We highly recommend that you contact National Driving Academy directly or the Wisconsin DMV to find out for sure if National Driving Academy offers driver training courses that have been approved by the State of Wisconsin.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for enrolling in a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if National Driving Academy makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call National Driving Academy and let them know before you sign up to take their driver training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether National Driving Academy will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads everywhere. Will National Driving Academy train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving school like National Driving Academy will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Wisconsin?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as National Driving Academy to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Wisconsin.
I live in Middleton Wisconsin. Does the law say I have to take both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do mandate that new, teen-aged drivers register for both a driver training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
Does National Driving Academy provide a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that is required by the State of Wisconsin? I need to complete one in order to obtain my driver license.
National Driving Academy offers behind-the-wheel training courses which are approved by the Wisconsin DMV.  You may want to contact National Driving Academy directly for more information about their courses and how to go about signing up for one.
I live in Middleton Wisconsin. What are the requirements for me to be able to get my first Wisconsin driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Wisconsin, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  National Driving Academy may offer courses which would fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
Is there a law in Wisconsin that says I have to take behind-the-wheel training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in Wisconsin mandates that all teen-agers enroll in an approved driver training course before receiving a Wisconsin driver's license.
Is it okay for me to enroll in a driver training class in Wisconsin before I receive my Wisconsin instruction permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their learners permit before they are allowed to register for a behind-the-wheel training program.  You should contact a driving school like National Driving Academy and request more information.
