Pro Driving SchoolFAQ's

Is Pro Driving School an approved driving school in Ohio?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer driver training courses in Ohio.  We highly recommend that you contact Pro Driving School directly or the Ohio DMV to find out for sure if Pro Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that have been approved by the State of Ohio.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving supervisor in Ohio, so taking a Cleveland driving school course like the one Pro Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Ohio DMV or a licensed driving school like Pro Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
Do I need to tell Pro Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know how to drive a stick-shift car.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a manual-shift OR and automatic-shift vehicle!  We recommend that you ask Pro Driving School if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift automobile before you sign up to take their driver training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Pro Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a rural area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Pro Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of bumpy terrain.  You may wish to contact Pro Driving School to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
I'm turning 14 in a few days. Can I get a learner's permit to drive in Ohio after my 14th birthday?
Most likely, no.  Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for a learner's permit.  Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the Ohio DMV office or a Ohio-certified driving school such as Pro Driving School to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
Will I be required to complete both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Cleveland Ohio?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now mandate new teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a drivers education course as well as a driver training course.
I am looking to sign up to take a Cleveland Ohio drivers education course. Can Pro Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  defensive driving courses are available in Cleveland Ohio through Pro Driving School.  Please contact Pro Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
I live in Cleveland Ohio. What are the requirements for me to be able to get my first Ohio driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Ohio, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  Pro Driving School may offer courses which would meet the driver training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
I live in Cleveland Ohio and would like to apply for my first driver's license. Do I need to take a driver training course before I can be licensed?
