ACS Driver Improvement ProgramFAQ's

How do I know if ACS Driver Improvement Program is certified by Missouri's DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
While we do include ACS Driver Improvement Program's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether ACS Driver Improvement Program is licensed by the State of Missouri.  We recommend that you either contact ACS Driver Improvement Program directly or possibly the Missouri DMV to find out if ACS Driver Improvement Program is a licensed driver training school.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for attending a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
Do you know if ACS Driver Improvement Program will let me take my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact ACS Driver Improvement Program and see if they can accommodate you before registering for their driver training course.
I live in a very rural area, where there are mountains and a lot of unpaved roads. Do you know if ACS Driver Improvement Program offers training for driving in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in urban areas?
Since you live in a remote area, a local driving school such as ACS Driver Improvement Program will tailor your behind-the-wheel training to handle the conditions in your area.
Are 14-year-olds permitted to obtain a learner's permit in Missouri?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school like ACS Driver Improvement Program to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Missouri.
Do I have to complete a Columbia Missouri drivers education classroom course or online course before signing up to take one of ACS Driver Improvement Program's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own rules, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course.  You may want to ask ACS Driver Improvement Program if they offer one or both programs.
I'm required to take a driver training course in Columbia Missouri. Do you know if ACS Driver Improvement Program offers defensive driving classes in Columbia Missouri?
Yes, ACS Driver Improvement Program does offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Columbia Missouri.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to sign up for one of their driver training courses, please contact ACS Driver Improvement Program directly.
What steps do I have to take in order to get a Missouri drivers license in Columbia Missouri?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a safe driving classroom course and a driver training course.  ACS Driver Improvement Program may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in Missouri.  Please contact ACS Driver Improvement Program for more information.

Is hands-on driver training required in Missouri in order to be licensed to drive a car?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Missouri are required to take an approved driver training course before they can get a license to independently operate a motor vehicle.
Can I sign up to take a Missouri-approved driver training course even if I don't have my Missouri learners permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that mandate a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Missouri instruction permit before registering in a Missouri driver training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as ACS Driver Improvement Program and ask for more information.
