Driving ImpressionsFAQ's

Driving Impressions's contact information is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is a licensed driver training school in Kansas?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the Kansas DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact Driving Impressions directly or check with the Kansas DMV to find out for sure if Driving Impressions is a licensed school.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving instructor in Kansas, so taking a Overland Park behind-the-wheel training course like the one Driving Impressions offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Kansas DMV or a licensed driving school like Driving Impressions and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
Do you know if Driving Impressions will let me take my driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Driving Impressions and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Driving Impressions be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Driving Impressions will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of bumpy terrain.  You may wish to contact Driving Impressions to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to obtain my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Driving Impressions or the Kansas DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Kansas.
Can I take Driving Impressions's driver training course before taking a Overland Park Kansas defensive driving classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Kansas's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Kansas's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved driver training course.  We recommend that you contact Driving Impressions directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
I have to take a defensive driving course in Overland Park Kansas. Can I meet this requirement by signing up with Driving Impressions?
Yes, Driving Impressions offers behind-the-wheel training courses in Overland Park Kansas.  You will need to contact Driving Impressions directly to get more information on the types of courses they offer and when to register for a class.
I live in Overland Park Kansas. What requirements must I meet to be able to get my first Kansas driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Kansas, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Driving Impressions may offer courses which would meet the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
Do I have to take a Overland Park Kansas behind-the-wheel training course in order to get a driver's license?

Will Kansas allow me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually get my learner's permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you receive your learner's permit before you sign up with a behind-the-wheel training course.
