Midway Driving SchoolFAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the Illinois DMV to offer driver training courses in Illinois?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently accredited to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Illinois.  We suggest you contact the Illinois DMV to make sure a particular driving school is licensed before you register for their driver training course.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
I have no clue how to drive a stick-shift vehicle. What happens if Midway Driving School makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Midway Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their driver training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether Midway Driving School will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will Midway Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like Midway Driving School will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
Can 14-year-olds obtain learner's permits to drive in Illinois?
Most states have set the minimum age for applying for an instruction permit at 15 or 15 1/2.  However, some states do allow 14-year-olds to get an instruction permit.  You may want to contact the Illinois DMV or a Illinois-approved driver training school like Midway Driving School to find out what the minimum age to drive is in Illinois.
Do I have to complete a Chicago Illinois drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Midway Driving School's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own rules, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a defensive driving classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online drivers education course.  You may want to ask Midway Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
