I heard that parents can fill the role of driving supervisor in Illinois, so taking a Chicago behind-the-wheel training course like the one City Driving School offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Illinois DMV or a licensed driving school like City Driving School and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
I have no clue how to drive a stick-shift vehicle. What happens if City Driving School makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....manual OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call City Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for certain whether City Driving School will be able to accommodate you before you pay them any money.
What happens to those of us who live in a non-urban area? Will City Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other rugged?
If you live in a rural location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like City Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
Are 14-year-olds eligible to obtain a learner's permit in Illinois?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to receive a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school like City Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Illinois.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Chicago Illinois or do I also have to register for a driver training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Illinois's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
I am looking to enroll in a Chicago Illinois behind-the-wheel training course. Can City Driving School assist me with this?

Is there a law in Illinois that says I have to take behind-the-wheel training in order to get my driver's license?
