Central Driving AcademyFAQ's

Is Central Driving Academy licensed by the Illinois DMV to offer driver training courses?
Although we include Central Driving Academy in our directory of driving schools for Chicago Illinois, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not Central Driving Academy is licensed by the Illinois DMV.  You should contact Central Driving Academy directly and ask them if you are thinking about registering for their Chicago Illinois behind-the-wheel training class.
Will the Illinois DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice in place of taking a driver training course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the Illinois DMV to find out if your behind-the-wheel driving may be done by your parents in Illinois.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will Central Driving Academy have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a Chicago Illinois behind-the-wheel training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Central Driving Academy know what your preference is before enrolling in their driver class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I live in a rural area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will Central Driving Academy train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driving school like Central Driving Academy will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
Now that I'm 14, will Illinois allow me to get a learner's permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for a learner's permit.  We recommend that your contact the Illinois DMV office or a Illinois-approved driving school such as Central Driving Academy to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Illinois.
Do I have to complete a Chicago Illinois drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Central Driving Academy's driver training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online drivers education course.  You may want to ask Central Driving Academy if they offer one or both programs.
