D & E Driving SchoolFAQ's

D & E Driving School's contact information is listed on your webpage. How can I know for sure if it is a licensed behind the wheel training school in Texas?
Even though we provide a list of driver training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is licensed by the Texas DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact D & E Driving School directly or check with the Texas DMV to find out for sure if D & E Driving School is a licensed school.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Texas?
Each state has its own laws regarding behind-the-wheel training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised driver training as a substitute for attending a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Texas DMV to find out for sure.
I can't drive a stick-shift. Will D & E Driving School allow me to do my driver training on an automatic-shift vehicle?
We recommend that you contact D & E Driving School and ask them if you can do your behind-the-wheel training using a vehicle that has an automatic shift before enrolling in their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a very rural area, where there are mountains and a lot of dirt roads. Do you know if D & E Driving School offers training for driving in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in city areas?
Since you live in a rural area, a local driving school such as D & E Driving School will tailor your driver training to handle the conditions in your area.
Now that I'm 14, will Texas allow me to get an instruction permit to drive?
Not likely.  Most states require residents to be at least 15 or 15 1/2 years old before applying for a learner's permit.  We recommend that your contact the Texas DMV office or a Texas-approved driver training institute such as D & E Driving School to learn more about the minimum driving age requirement in Texas.
Will I be required to enroll in both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in San Antonio Texas?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a drivers education course as well as a driver training course.
I am looking to enroll in a San Antonio Texas drivers education course. Can D & E Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  Drivers education courses are available in San Antonio Texas through D & E Driving School.  Please contact D & E Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
I live in San Antonio Texas. What are the requirements for me to be able to get my first Texas driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Texas, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a safe driving classroom course and a driver training course.  D & E Driving School may offer courses which would fulfill the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
Is there a law in Texas that says I have to take behind-the-wheel training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in Texas mandates that all teen-agers take an approved driver training course before receiving a Texas driver's license.
Is it possible to enroll in a Texas-approved driver training course before I obtain my Texas instruction permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in Texas, however most states require first-time drivers to receive a learners permit before registering for a behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as D & E Driving School to obtain more information.
