A Safeway Driving SchoolFAQ's

Is A Safeway Driving School a certified driving school in Nevada?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer hands-on driving courses in Nevada.  We highly recommend that you contact A Safeway Driving School directly or the Nevada DMV to find out for sure if A Safeway Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that have been approved by the State of Nevada.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Nevada?
Each state has its own rules regarding driver training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised behind-the-wheel training as a substitute for enrolling in a driver training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Nevada DMV to find out for sure.
Do I need to tell A Safeway Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift automobile? I don't know how to operate a manual-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift vehicle!  We recommend that you ask A Safeway Driving School if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift automobile before you enroll in their driver training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will A Safeway Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on rugged terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like A Safeway Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact A Safeway Driving School to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Nevada?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as A Safeway Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Nevada.
Am I required to take a Las Vegas Nevada classroom or online drivers education course before I can sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training course through A Safeway Driving School?
This requirement varies from state to state but most states do mandate pre-licensed drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based defensive driving course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a behind-the-wheel training course.  You should ask A Safeway Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
If I need to register for a Las Vegas Nevada behind-the-wheel training program, can A Safeway Driving School help?
Yes.  A Safeway Driving School offers driving courses in Las Vegas Nevada.  For more information about the type of behind-the-wheel training A Safeway Driving School offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
What type of driver ed do I need before Nevada will give me a driver's license?
Each state has its own requirements concerning drivers education, although you should know that most states now mandate all new, young drivers to enroll in a drivers education classroom or online course as well as a driver training course.  A Safeway Driving School may be able to help you meet the behind-the-wheel training requirement in Nevada.  Please contact either A Safeway Driving School or the Nevada DMV for more information.
Is it necessary for me to enroll in a driver training course in order to get my first Nevada driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in Nevada are required to take a state-approved driver training course.
Is it possible to sign up to take a Nevada-certified driver training course before I obtain my Nevada instruction permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in Nevada, however most states require first-time drivers to receive a learners permit before registering for a driver training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as A Safeway Driving School to obtain more information.
