Action Driving SchoolFAQ's

Action Driving School is listed on your website as a driving school which offers behind-the-wheel training courses. How do I know if Action Driving School is a certified school in California?
While we include a list of driver training schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the California DMV.  We suggest you contact Action Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out if Action Driving School is a fully-accredited driving school.
Will the California DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice as a substitute to taking a driver training course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the California DMV to find out if your behind-the-wheel driving may be done by your parents in California.
Do I need to tell Action Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift automobile? I don't know how to operate a manual-shift vehicle.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift car!  We recommend that you ask Action Driving School if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift automobile before you sign up to take their driver training course.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Action Driving School be able to teach me how to drive safely on rugged terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Action Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and other types of bumpy terrain.  You may wish to contact Action Driving School to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to obtain my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Action Driving School or the California DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in California.
Do I have to complete a Los Angeles California drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Action Driving School's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a defensive driving classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course.  You may want to ask Action Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
If I need to enroll in a Los Angeles California behind-the-wheel training program, can Action Driving School help?
Yes.  Action Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses in Los Angeles California.  For more information about the type of driver training Action Driving School offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
What do I need to do to get a California drivers license in Los Angeles California?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  Action Driving School may be able to help you meet the driver training portion in California.  Please contact Action Driving School for more information.

What are the laws in California concerning driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  California law states that new drivers enroll in an approved driver training course as a prerequisite to getting their first driver's license.
Will California allow me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course before I actually get my instruction permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your learner's permit before you enroll in a driver training course.
