Jon's Driving AcademyFAQ's
Since Jon's Driving Academy is listed on your website, does this mean they've been approved by the Wisconsin DMV to offer driver training courses?
The list of driver training schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only. We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-certified by the Wisconsin DMV. You may want to call Jon's Driving Academy directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do allow parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license. However many states do not allow any type of substitution for enrolling in a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course. We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
What if I don't know how to drive a vehicle with a stick-shift? Does Jon's Driving Academy have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle! However, if you have a preference as to a stick or an automatic, you probably should call Jon's Driving Academy to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their driver training course.
Since I live way out in a remote location where driving on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Jon's Driving Academy be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in the country, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Jon's Driving Academy will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and rugged terrain. We recommend that you contact Jon's Driving Academy directly to find out exactly what they offer.
Can I apply for my Wisconsin learner's permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no. Most states have set the youngest age to obtain a learner's permit at 15 or 15½. You may want to contact the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction school like Jon's Driving Academy to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Wisconsin.
Will I be required to register for both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in Green Bay Wisconsin?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now require new teen-aged drivers to successfully complete both a drivers education course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.
Wisconsin's DMV has told me that I need to take a driver training course. Do you know if Jon's Driving Academy offers this course or not?
Jon's Driving Academy does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that Wisconsin requires all new teen-aged drivers to take. For more information about the courses Jon's Driving Academy offers, we recommend that you contact Jon's Driving Academy directly.

You may wish to contact the Wisconsin DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to meet in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is hands-on driver training required in Wisconsin in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?
