Colorado Driver License Requirements at-a-glance:

Unsupervised driving rules
Drivers Education, Driver Awareness, and Minor Instruction Permit holders must be accompanied by a supervising licensed driver who's at least 21 years old. Minor License holders may not drive unsupervised between 12 midnight and 5am for the first year after receiving their minor driver's license (unless it's school-related)
Passenger rules
Licensed minors may not carry a passenger under 21 who is not a family member until they have had a license for at least 6 months and may not carry more than one passenger under 21 who is not a family member until they have had held a license for 12 months.
